SNOW QUEEN

Gerda and Kay, our main characters, are brother and sister. One evening their parents go to a dance. The older sister should take care of her younger brother, but he miraculously disappears. He is kidnapped by the Snow Queen. In this hopeless situation, Gerda decides to go on a journey to the North Pole. On her way, she has to confront her fears. The performance is a combination of table puppets, storytelling and sound theatre. Animators, with the help of sound created with various objects, animate our imagination.

MARIBOR PUPPET THEATRE, MARIBOR, REPUBLIC OF SLOVENIA

In the autumn of 2010, Maribor Puppet Theatre moved to the renovated building of the Minorite monastery on Lent, which enabled thetheatre to fully integrate and expand the program due to the luxury of the beautiful space and the state-of-the-art theatre equipment. The season consists of six premieres, connected in a conceptual whole with a deliberately designed age key, which, in addition to our favourite and most numerou sviewers - children – also addresses young people and adults. The repertoire emphasizes there search of puppe tmedia and the inclusion of classical puppet technologies on the one hand and contemporary puppet approaches on the other. Along side regular reproductions, LGM offers a comprehensive set of additional pedagogical content and performs innovative research-oriented projects. Since 1988, LGM has been organizing the popular international puppetry festival Summer Puppet Port and has been providing a quality platform for the Slovenian Puppet Biennale, the central state puppet festival, since 2001. At LGM, they want to create an attractive and modern puppetry centre which, through creative imagination, understanding of the puppet arts and good organization of additional content, deliberately and sensibly addresses viewers of all ages and complexities.
